What is Youth Week?

2015-Crowd.jpg

Bring It On! Youth Festival is Fairfield City Council's annual Youth Week event, but what exactly does that mean?

Youth Week is an annual celebration of all young people aged 12-24 which began in NSW in 1989. It is a time to put young people at the centre and celebrate the talents, achievements, strengths and contributions of young people.

Youth Week events are organised by young people, for young people alongside local Councils and youth services. Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to come together and:

  • attend live events
  • showcase your talents
  • take part in competitions
  • share your voice
  • have fun!

Youth Week NSW 2025 is 9-17 April

This year's theme is "I am ___________. We are the future and the future is now!" It's all about celebrating every young person's unique strengths as our current and future influencers, leaders and decision makers.

Outside of Bring It On! there is also a calendar of events, shows, workshops and activities that are organised by local youth services and young people. Just like Bring It On! all of these events are free!

Visit the Youth Week NSW website or check out the list below for list of activities happening in our area.

*Please note: The activities below and all information is managed by the respective event coordinator and is subject to change. The activities and information are not controlled by Fairfield City Council, the Fairfield Youth Advisory Committee or the Bring It On! Youth Festival team. Please contact the event coordinator for more information.
